Specific Venue and October Date Set for Daniel Dubois vs. Fabio Wardley Rematch

A rematch between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley is officially being lined up for October, according to promoter Frank Warren. Reports suggest that October 17 is the targeted date, with Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena expected to host the fight.

The two heavyweights previously met in May at the same venue, where Dubois secured a dramatic 11th-round stoppage victory over Wardley. The win earned Dubois the WBO heavyweight title in a fierce and physically demanding contest.

The intensity of that bout led some observers to question whether Wardley would be ready for a quick return. However, the decision to trigger the rematch clause came from Wardley’s team, signaling their confidence in a different outcome.

Frank Warren confirmed that the rematch was initiated by Wardley’s camp, adding that such a move suggests they believe they can make the necessary adjustments. He also noted that Dubois is already in excellent condition and prepared for another tough challenge.

Dubois enters the rematch with renewed momentum following his comeback from a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk in July 2025. In his previous fight with Wardley, he showed resilience by getting up from the canvas twice before gradually breaking his opponent down.

Wardley, who suffered the first defeat of his professional career in that fight, has promised improvements ahead of the rematch. Dubois, meanwhile, is confident he will deliver an even better performance as champion.

Warren expects another thrilling showdown, describing their first encounter as a standout fight and predicting the rematch will be just as explosive.
